Harold W. Steinke

Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother went home to be with his Lord, Monday, July 18, 2022, at the age of 94.

Harold was born February 12, 1928, in Saginaw, MI, the son of the late Otto & Lena (Ballien) Steinke. He married Phyllis Julia Schneider, September 2, 1947. They shared 66 memorable years together; she predeceased him May 2, 2013. Harold graduated from Arthur Hill Tech in 1945 and retired from General Motors after 40 years as a wood pattern maker in 1993. He was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church of Saginaw, MI where he sang in the choir for many years and served as a council member. He enjoyed summers at Houghton Lake, traveling & working on his lawn and garden.

Surviving Harold are his four children and spouses; David & Melanie of Port Ste. Lucie, FL, Karen and Michael Stumpfig of Gladwin, MI, Jill and Reagan Graham of South Lyon, MI; Scott Steinke of Saginaw, MI and a dear niece Laura Hill of Bay City, MI; five beloved grandchildren, Megan (Steinke) Dewar, Brennan Graham, Krista Steinke, George Stumpfig, Samantha Stumpfig; two great-grandchildren, Lily Dewar and Phillip Stumpfig; one sister Barbara (Robert) Schneider; and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brother Wilbert Steinke and his sisters Ruth Lambkin and Malinda Jarzabkowski.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church 1209 Hancock of Saginaw MI. Rev. Sue Hand will officiate. Friends and family may visit at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Thursday 2:00-4:00 p.m. from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and again at church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
