Harold James Boehler

Harold James Boehler Sr. passed away on August 27, 2025, leaving a legacy filled with love, friendship, and tradition.

He was born on January 21, 1944, to the late Herman and Rose (Kretz) Boehler. Harold graduated from Arthur Hill Tech and worked as a pattern maker for 45 years and co-owned Saginaw Pattern & Machine. Harold married the love of his life, Virginia Pahssen on May 9, 1964; she sadly predeceased him on August 29, 2023. Harold was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and cherished being a parent, grandparent and great-grandparent. His love of family was evident when he attended every sporting event, school event and life event.

Harold enjoyed hosting Wednesday night poker games with his friends and the occasional fish fry in his pole barn. An avid outdoorsman, he could be found hunting, fishing, keeping an immaculate garden and tending to his animals. He also enjoyed trips to the Casino with family and friends and watching sporting events, especially the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.

He was a beloved father to Cheryl (Kevin) Burgess and Brian (Ashley Shevchenko) Boehler; his daughter-in-law Beth Boehler and a devoted grandfather to Sarah, Callie, and Jessica Burgess, Caitlin (Caleb) Schroeder, and Courtney Boehler; and a great-grandfather to Bryer Fath. His siblings: Gertrude Budd, Caroline (Alden) Roggow, Rose Marie (Gordon) Campbell, Herman (Joanne) Boehler, and Roger (Joanne) Boehler, as well as a sister-in-law, Betty Lou Berg.

Though he now joins those loved ones who have departed, including his son Harold J. Boehler, Jr., and his cherished in-laws, Harry and Theresa (DeShone) Pahssen, his sisters: Violet Burback and Marianne Boehler Reis, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Henry Pahssen, Leon Pahssen, Dan McDonald, Cecil Berg, Richard Budd, Paul Burback, Marcella Pahssen, Doreen McDonald.

Honoring Harold’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Wednesday at the funeral chapel from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Please share your words of condolence with the family at the funeral home or at www.casefuneralhome.com
