Gusta “Peggy” Thiel

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, and sister passed away on June 12, 2020 at the age of 91 years.
The daughter of the late Leonard and Helen (Shattuck) Bacome was born on May 14, 1929 in Edmore, Michigan. Peggy married Lloyd V Thayer on May 13, 1945; he predeceased her on September 21, 1987. Peggy remarried Donald Thiel in 1994; he predeceased her on March 20, 2015. Peggy was a long time member of Saginaw Shields Church of the Nazarene.
Peggy’s children include: Leonard (Gerri) Thayer, Elvie Thayer, who predeceased her on August 28, 2009, Linda (William) Stein, and Roland Thayer, who predeceased her on February 12, 1977, grandchildren: William (Jennifer) Stein Jr., Kerri Stein, who predeceased on September 13, 1968, Kelly (Troy) Koch, Desiree’ Thayer, and Shaun Thayer, great-grandchildren: Heather (Derek) Hoffman, Erika Stein, Megan Stein, Hannah Koch, and Hailey Koch, a great-great grandchild: Jase Hoffman. She is also survived by siblings: Ellery Campbell, Roger Stowell, and Leroy (Beverly) Thayer, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 19, 2020, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw. Pastor Jerry Schalau will officiate will burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 2-5 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, as well as on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service.
