Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the age of 89.

Gloria was born on April 16, 1936, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Joseph John Comerford and Julia Frances (Sokup) Comerford. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1954. She was married to Anthony Ackerman on October 8, 1955; he preceded her in death on February 9, 1977. She later married Richard “Dick” Dell on May 30, 1992; he preceded her in death on March 25, 2022.

Gloria enjoyed going to the casino, feeding wild animals, looking for new recipes, and spending time with her family.

Gloria is survived by her children and their spouses: Julie and Richard Colpean, Kelly and Matt Darland, Anthony Ackerman. She leaves grandchildren: Cody Colpean, Keara and Ryan Jones, Kerby and Dakota Favara, Carsun and Sarah Colpean, Jessica and Bryan Forton, Josh Darland and his fiancé Shannon, Parker, Connor and Spencer Ackerman. She is also survived by great grandchildren: Addison Vance, Alivia, Adriana and Lukas Forton, Braxton Darland, Ryder Colpean, Bentley and Baylor Jones, and Emory Favara.

Gloria also leaves Dick’s children and their spouses: Cheri and Phil Valkachak, Ed and Patty Dell, Kim Hurley, Debbie and Jeff Kolk, Rich and Dawn Dell, along with Dick’s grandchildren: Lisa and Ken McCaleb, Brett and Kaycee Valkachak, Chad and Morgan Valkachak, Cullen and Kylee Hurley, Gabby Hurley, Casey and Jake Murtaugh, Amy and Rob, Mackenzie Kolk, Travis and Aries Dell. She will also be missed by Dick’s great-grandchildren: Emma, Lilly, and Colton MCCaleb, Violet Valkachak, Charli and Parker Valkachak, Toby Hurley, Emitt and Nevaeh, and Harper Murtaugh.

Gloria was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters: Donald, William, Richard, John, and David Comerford, Dorothy Farmer, Lillian White, Lorraine Nicoli, Marie Smuhl, and Betty Hudson. She is also preceded in death by Dick’s grandson Carter Kolk and Dick’s son-in-law Brian Hurley.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, where friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate the service, with interment to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.
