Obituary

Gladys Loraine McKnight of Saginaw
Passed away on Monday, May 30th, 2022, at the age of 89. Gladys was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 12th, 1932, to the late Guy & Ivadelle (Guilfoil) Edwards and was a 1951 graduate of Saginaw High School. She spent her working years in the corporate offices of the Wickes Corporation. A seemingly reserved person, Gladys loved reading non-fiction and flowers, but she had an adventurous spirit and was a fiercely independent woman who could do anything she set her mind to. She enjoyed travelling by herself throughout Europe and the United States, and loved rollercoasters, riding motorcycles, flying in small airplanes, skiing, roller skating, and ice skating. Gladys was also a devote woman of faith, spending more than 70 years as an active member of First Assembly of God.

Gladys is survived by two daughters, Lee (Dan) McKnight Brown, & Paula McKnight; grandchildren Chief Petty Officer Andrew McKnight, William McKnight, Dylan McKnight-Becker, & Heather (Michael) Beckman; great grandchildren Joshua McKnight, Noah McKnight, Payton Emerson, Logan Beckman, Elijah Beckman, & Kyleigh Beckman; siblings Kenneth (Lynn) Edwards, Charles (Delores) Edwards, Dave (Rosalie) Edwards, & Tony Edwards; and sister-in-law Kay Edwards; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, friends, and special friends Donna Stollz, Joyce Earls, & Kitty Beebe.

Gladys was preceded in death by siblings Guy Edwards, Harold Edwards, Madeline Wagner, Duane Edwards, Ed Edwards, Jim Edwards, John Edwards, & Jack Edwards; special friend Jean Wierzbicki; and the love of her life Jerry Clore.

The family would like to thank the hard work, care, and consideration of Lexi, Andrew, Macey, & Char at Covenant ICU.
