Giorgina Marie Yeager (Malini), age 96, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at Traditions of Saginaw.

Giorgina was born on September 13, 1929, in Trieste, Italy. Her early years were shaped by the hardships of World War II, and she often shared stories with her family of seeking shelter during air raids and hearing bombs fall from the safety of bomb shelters. Those experiences helped form the resilient, grateful, and compassionate woman her family came to know and love.

While living in Italy, Giorgina met the love of her life, Donald Yeager, who was stationed there during and following World War II. Their friendship grew into a lasting romance, and they were united in marriage on September 5, 1954. Together they built a life founded on faith, love, and devotion to family. Donald preceded her in death on September 1, 2021.

A longtime and faithful member of Saginaw Wesleyan Church, Giorgina worshipped alongside her husband for many years and cherished the friendships and fellowships she found within her church family.

Giorgina found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching movies, especially classic films, and could often be found enjoying a good cup of coffee while revisiting an old favorite. She was also a devoted fan of Elvis Presley, whose music remained a favorite throughout her life.

Travel brought Giorgina great happiness. During the summer months, she frequently returned to her beloved homeland of Italy, where she enjoyed reconnecting with family, friends, and treasured memories. She also loved visiting Windsor, Ontario, where she enjoyed spending time in the area's Italian community.

Above all, Giorgina was devoted to her family. She will be remembered as a loving, supportive, and encouraging mother and grandmother who celebrated the accomplishments of those she loved and took immense pride in their successes. Her family fondly remembers her exceptional cooking, especially her delicious Italian dishes that brought everyone together around the table. Each holiday with family meant a large Italian feast instead of the traditional fixings, something her family will cherish. Each New Year, at 12:00, she would cook up her famous lentil soup to bring wealth, good luck, and financial prosperity in the year ahead.

Giorgina was known for her elegance and style. Whether welcoming guests into her home or heading out to visit friends, she always made sure her hair was perfectly styled, her makeup was done, and her outfit reflected her impeccable taste. She enjoyed a little retail therapy and could often be found browsing the mall or finding special treasures while shopping on QVC.

Her grace, warmth, strength, and devotion to family will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Though her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Donald and in the many cherished memories she leaves behind.

Giorgina's legacy of faith, family, love, and resilience will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Mark (Shannon) Yeager and Bruce Yeager; her grandchildren, Markesa (Matt) Kilmartin, Christina (Sean) O’Grady, Donny Yeager, and MJ Yeager; and great-grandchildren, Myrkia “Kia” Maguire, Atlas O’Grady, Bee O’Grady, and Giorgina “”Giorgie” Kilmartin.

A funeral service is set to take place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Giorgina will be laid to rest next to her loving husband at St. Andrew Cemetery, 381 St Andrew Rd, Saginaw, MI 48638, on September 14, 2026 at 10:00 am.
