Gilbert Alston Hill, age 92, of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Gilbert was born to the late Hellen Hill Cruson on April 16, 1934, in Bay City. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1952. He worked as the Shipping and Receiving Manager for Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in 1990. He married Loraine Wagner on July 10, 1952, and they were married for an incredible 74 years. He was a devoted family man. He loved to fish, hunt, camp, bowl and golf as he spent many years doing those activities. He also enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino.

He is survived by his wife Loraine; his children Linda (George) Arquette, Larry Hill and Cindy Hepworth; his grandchildren Rachel Strobel, Kathy Berry, Bobbiesue (Kevin) Benedict, Brian (Melissa) Hill, Stephanie (Steve) Pine, Sean (Lindsay) Hepworth, Matthew Hepworth, Kara (Brandon) George and many great and great-great grand kids.

He was predeceased by a son, Jeffery Hill; granddaughters Stacey Hepworth and Paula Jasman; and a daughter in law Alene Hill.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate the service and interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Following the cemetery service, friends are invited to join the family at the reception hall at the funeral home for a time of food and fellowship.
