Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother was called home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2025 at the age of 95. Gerry was born August 2, 1930, in Saginaw to the late Joseph A. and Margueritte (Lauckner) Franz. She married Ray E. House on September 27, 1952, who predeceased her in 2015. They met at the Golden Glow Ballroom where they both shared a love for polka dancing. Gerry, being an only child, enjoyed Ray’s large family and set out to have a large family of her own. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker, dedicating her life to raising her 10 children and caring for her large family. She was a faithful Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. John XXIII Parish in Hemlock.

She regularly donated blood to American Red Cross, receiving pins in recognition of her commitment. She enjoyed traveling (especially fall color rides), bingo, playing cards, and family gatherings, but her greatest joy was time spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Gerry is survived by her 10 children: Penny (David) Traver, Gregg House, Brad (Billie) House, Paula Wardin, Wayne, Dino (Sue) House, Peggy (Michael) Glynn, Glenn House, Pam House, Todd House. She was blessed with 19 grandchildren: Melody (Matthew) Wesley, Matt Traver (Megan), Nicholas House, Marissa House (Mark), Samantha (Jason) Nelson, Adam House, Jeremy Wardin, Josette (Neal) Marsh, Jennifer (Bryan) Liotta, Jacob (Heyley) Westphal, Brittany (Tony) Jeffers, Cory House (Catherine), Dana (Scott) Pittel, Danielle (Taylor) Hogan, Hannah House (Josh), Colton, Gabriella House, Holly House; and 23 great grand children: Hunter Traver, Cade Traver, Mea Wesley, Cole Wesley, Bradley Dufresne, Ethan Dufresne, Nellie Norman, Peyton Nelson, Lennon Nelson, Jonny Wardin, Trekstyn Liotta, Ellie Marsh, Maveryx Liotta, Trevor Marsh, August Westphal, Ferris Jeffers, Finnley Jeffers, Frannie Jeffers, Brooks House, Alexis Pittel, Kylie Pittel, Ava House, Hayes House-Vannoy. Gerry was also predeceased by her grandson, Aaron House and son-in-law, Jonathan Wardin.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Union Court, St Charles and Optimal Home Care and Hospice for their exceptional care, love, and comfort they provided to Gerry.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at St. John XXIII Parish (St. Mary’s Church), 151 St. Mary’s Dr, Hemlock, MI 48626, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Fr. Sunil Kumar Pallela will officiate with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends and family may visit the family from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609, with a Rosary service to follow at 7:00 p.m.
