Obituary

Gerald “Mike” Michael Chauvette
July 21, 1945 – January 27, 2026

Mike Chauvette, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He went home to be with the Lord and was joyfully reunited with the love of his life, his wife Judy, his daughter, Kimberly Sanchez, and his great-granddaughter, Amiliana Sanchez.

Mike was born on July 21, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of the late Gerald and Faye (Swarthout) Chauvette. He married Judy Beuthin on January 14, 1977, and together they shared many wonderful years before her passing on November 23, 2021.

Mike retired from EATON Manufacturing after many years of dedicated service. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed bowling. Mike loved the outdoors, whether fishing, camping, or spending time with the Jeep Club. He and Judy also cherished their years living in Florida before returning to Michigan to be closer to family.

Mike was known for being laid back, easygoing, and genuinely kind. He was understanding, supportive, and friendly to everyone he met — it was truly said that he never met a stranger. He was a wonderful father and a steady presence for his family.

Mike’s life will be remembered for his kindness, his love of family, and the warmth he shared with everyone he met.

Mike will be deeply missed by his children: Paul (Carrie) Chauvette, Jennifer (Chris) Samson, Jennifer Chauvette (Raymond Conden), and Rebecca (Luciano) Villegas; 12 grandchildren: Rudy Sanchez, Katie (Joe) Esparza, Jon (Hannah) Chauvette, Ashlie Samson, Alexandria Villegas, Alison (Andrew) Otten, Veronica Villegas, David (Jordan) Chauvette, Nikki Cortez, Brady Samson, Molly (Brandon) Conden-Popielarz, and Cassandra Villegas; three sisters and two brothers: Adele (Mike) Samson, Mark (Zena) Chauvette, Renee (Steve) Keyser, Michelle (Mark) Barlow, and Gregory (Kathy) Chauvette; 18 great-grandchildren; and an aunt, Theresa Chauvette. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends too numerous to mention, but held closely to his heart.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan. Pastor Jim Doran will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may consider a memorial contribution to Camp Fish Tales, 2177 E. Erickson Road, Pinconning, MI 48650. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
