Gerald “Jerry” Kent Laraby, a cherished member of the Saginaw community, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, in his hometown of Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 83.
Born on March 10, 1943, in Saginaw, he was the beloved son of Albert and Lucille (Brabant) Laraby. He spent his formative years in Saginaw, developing strong ties to the place he would always call home. Throughout his life, Jerry was known for his steadfast character and deep commitment to those he loved.
Jerry loved horses and was on the show circuit for many years. He enjoyed hunting and going up north to the cottage on Houghton Lake.
Jerry’s legacy lives on through his devoted wife, Linda (Marcoux) Laraby, whose partnership and companionship were sources of great strength and joy for him. They were united in marriage on June 25, 1987. He is also survived by two sons, Dr. Todd Massa D.C. and his wife Natalie, and Rodger Massa and his wife Rhonda; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and his sister, Nora Benton.
He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Laraby, his mother, Lucille Laraby, and his brother, James Laraby.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Private burial will take place later in Cook Cemetery-Taymouth Township.
