It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald “Jerry” Castle, a beloved resident of Saginaw, Michigan, on September 21, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on August 3, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Maynard and Onalee (Weeks) Castle, Jerry lived a life defined by his love and dedication to his family.

Jerry will be remembered for his generous spirit, unwavering integrity, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor whose strength, loyalty, and compassion touched countless lives. Always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement, Jerry left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. A devoted member of the Bridgeport Gun Club, he treasured the friendships he built and the camaraderie he shared through his love of the outdoors.

Jerry found great joy in his many hobbies and passions. An accomplished woodworker, he crafted treasured pieces that will remain lasting reminders of his talent and care. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who felt most at home in nature. Whether riding his motorcycle, camping beneath the stars, paddling his kayak, or spending time on the water, Jerry embraced life's adventures and found peace in the beauty of the natural world.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 61 years, Karen Castle; his children, Hope (Bill) Klatt, Mark (Tina) Castle, and Karen (Ed Shields) Castle; his siblings, Florence (Stan) Betz, Judy Andrews, Maynard (Pauline) Castle, Rose Sommers, and Debbie (Nick) Nehmer; his grandchildren, Marty (Lindsey) Klatt, Kevin (Katie) Klatt, Erik Castle, Brianne (Evan) Van Wormer, Jeffrey Ryan Castle, and Nathan Castle; his great-grandchildren, Anastasia and Jonathon; his beloved furry companion, Annie; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Onalee Castle; his in-laws, Gerald and Evelyn Slagle; and his best friends, Mike Slagle and Will Newman.

Jerry's presence, wisdom, and love will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
