Georgia passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born on February 22, 1929 to the late Dayton and Ann (Stapert) Surplice in Midland, Michigan. Georgia graduated from Saginaw High School. On November 3, 1962 she married Russell Latty.

Georgia was employed with Lufkin Rule as a line worker for several years. She spent most of her working career at home caring for her family. Georgia was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for many years. She enjoyed spending her time cooking and baking. The family will always remember her special cookies and incredible cream puffs. She was an avid walker and spent some time knitting and crocheting.

Georgia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Russell Latty, her children: Dayton Latty, Bona (Jon) Smith, Kenna (Gerry) Kessler, Robbin DeCaire, eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at W.L. Case and Company (201 N. Miller Rd). Pastor Philomena Ofori- Nipaah will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 noon until the time of service on Wednesday. Due to the worldwide health pandemic, building capacity is limited, face coverings are required and social distancing will be encouraged.
