Smith, Genevieve (Brady) Saginaw, MI Beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away early Sunday, December 18, 2016, at the age of 90 years. The daughter of the late Bernard and Adeline (Balko) Winieckie was born on November 28, 1926 in Saginaw. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School, the class of 1944. She married Raymond Brady on July 27, 1946; he predeceased her on May 11, 1978. Genevieve later married Thomas Smith on June 14, 1980; he predeceased her on October 7, 1996. She was a member of First Assembly of God and enjoyed reading and gardening. Genevieve most especially loved time spent with her grandchildren. Surviving are her five children and their spouses: Donald J. (Jean) Brady, Rick (Barbara) Brady, Danford Brady, Denise (Robert) Lauka, Ramona (significant other David Saltmarsh) Lamping, 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The spiritual innocence of love, youth and humour that emanated from Genevieve was the binding force that kept her relationships with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren ever so strong. And so being, they shall keep the memories of their grandmother alive and flowing for generations to come. Genevieve is also survived by her siblings: Arlene Mossner, Linnie Kay (Phillip) Kolinski, Vincent Winieckie, two sisters-in-law: Julie Winieckie, Leah Mahoney and many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. She was predeceased by her siblings: Iris (Daniel) Pawlick, Thelvius Winieckie, Val (Rosemary) Winieckie, Bernard Winieckie. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., December 21, 2016, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Don Killey will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
