Passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2019. Age 77 years. Gary was born on October 27, 1942, son of the late Glen and Veronica (Allen ) Tarrant, in Saginaw. He was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1960. Gary served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the American Legion Post #439. He married Barbara Letts on April 3, 2009. She survives him. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Gary retired from CSX Railroad in 2002 after 33 years of service. After retiring, he worked security at Covenant Healthcare, from 2004 to 2010. Gary enjoyed being in his yard and working on his lawn. He was a very caring person, helping his neighbors and others when in need. He loved kids and animals and enjoyed spending time with his family. Gary will be missed by his loving wife, Barbara; his children, Steven (Sandra) Tarrant, granddaughter, Meghan Tarrant; step-daughters, Kristie Montle and Karen Toland; step-grandchildren, Brittany Montle, Katrina Toland and Erica Toland, step-great grandson, Hendrix Gonzalez; also many special friends. Gary was predeceased by his brother and sister, Glenda and Glen Tarrant. Funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Roger Stauffer will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
