Frederick John Reichard

Passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Wellspring Lutheran Center, age 92 years. Frederick was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on July 16, 1930, the son of the late Martin and Ottilie (Bickle) Reichard. He married Joyce Day on January 19, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 20, 2011. Frederick was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and had retired as a heat treat inspector from Saginaw Steering Gear after 32 years of service. He also managed a 165-acre farm and enjoyed wood crafting in his free time.

Frederick survived by two sons, Dr. Larry Reichard of Saginaw, Michigan, and his fiancé, Katy T. Nguyen of Kansas City, Missouri, and Thomas (Marcella) Reichard, Cadillac, Michigan; brother Alvin (Teddy) Reichard; sister Shirley (Dick) Elvin; and sister-in-law Norma Pfund.

Besides his wife Joyce, Frederick was preceded in death by brother Martin (Ruth) Reichard and sister-in-law Marion Decatur.

The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss. Rev. Michael R. Korte will officiate with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Sunday 1:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
