Frank James Zdrojkowski

Zdrojkowski, Frank James Birch Run, Michigan Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother passed away at the age of 89 years on Monday, December 3, 2012, after a long and fruitful life. He was born March 31, 1923, in Saginaw, the son of the late Stanislaus and Anna (Gosik) Zdrojkowski. He was one of three brothers who served in World War II. Frank served with the US Army in the European Theater. He had been employed by C & O Railroad for seven years. He later was employed by General Motors, retiring in 1982 after 27 years of service. He was a member of Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, where he had been an usher, a member of the Parish Council, served on the building committee for the new church, and served as Grand Stand Emcee for the parish picnic. He was a member of the Frankenmuth American Legion Post #150 and of the Birch Run V.F.W. Post #7542. He enjoyed playing Euchre. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and the Lions. He married Adela Kwaiser on March 23, 1943; she predeceased him on December 29, 1994. A daughter, Sandy Zdrojkowski, also predeceased him. Surviving are five daughters and two sons, Mary Ann and Chet Cherry, Birch Run; Connie and Dennis Dunlap, Massachusetts; Wayne and Mary Zdrojkowski, Ann Arbor; Paula Young, Lansing; Susan and Darrell Parks, Morrice, Michigan; Matthew Zdrojkowski, Barryton, Michigan; Wanda Raymond, Saginaw; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister, John Drake, Clarence Zdrojkowski, Floyd (JoAnn) Zdrojkowski, and Sophie and Charles Luth; many nieces, nephews and their families. He was also predeceased by a great-grandson, Christopher; four brothers and one sister, Chester Dork, Stanley Zdrojkowski, Sally Sonnenberg, Joseph Dzrojkoski, and Louis Zdrojkowski. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012, at Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, 7877 Bell Road, Bridgeport. Rev. Fr. John Sarge will officiate. Military Honors will be under the auspices of the Birch Run V.F.W. Post #7542. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, from 2:00 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 2:00 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, where a parish vigil service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday. Friends and family may then call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
