Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpected at her home on Sunday, July 14, 2019. Named after her grandmother, Frances Colleen Lepeak was born on August 20, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Leonard J. and JoAnn J. (Premo) Lepeak. She married Edward W. Colpean on August 28, 1971, at the rose garden in Saginaw. In her younger years, Fran, worked as a family planner with the Saginaw County Health Department. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. Music was a major part of Frans life. She loved to listen to various artists throughout the years, but her all-time favorite were The Beatles. Fran was a very loving person and a natural helper, if family or friends had a problem, she was their go to person. She will forever be remembered for being a free spirit, an unyielding freethinker, and for all the love she had for both family and friends. Surviving are a son, Rob (Jennifer) Lepeak of St. Charles; daughter, Shannon (Sam) Colby of Sparta; former spouse, Edward Colpean; six grandchildren: Nick (Sara) Kerkau of St. Charles; Mat Kerkau of Saginaw; Zoey, Brady, and Devon all of St. Charles; Alex Colby of Sparta; five sisters and five brothers: Carol Greenberg, Lynne (Mike) Debol, Mike (Connie) Lepeak, Kay (Dan) Vogelaar, Steve (Cherie) Lepeak, Joe (Zeny) Lepeak, Jim (Teena) Lepeak, John (Terri) Lepeak, Juli (Dan) George, Shirley Lepeak. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, brother, George Lepeak, step-father, William Giacoma; and step-mother, Judy Lepeak. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Fr. Andrew LaFramboise will officiate. Honoring Frans wishes cremation will follow. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to The Junction of Hope in Chesaning. Frans favorite color was red. To honor her life please wear something red.
