Frances Buxton Brittain

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother passed away on Tuesday March 7, 2022 at the age of 88 years.
The daughter of the late Earl and Doris (Freeland) Burkey was born November 19, 1933 in Saginaw. She married Philip Buxton; he predeceased her April 16, 1981. She later married Teddy O’Neil Brittain; he predeceased her December 21, 2002. Frances was an active member of Ames United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, camping, dog racing, and most especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Billie Dee (Raymond, Jr.) Cradit, grandchildren: Kristin (Kevin) Brewer, Paul Buxton, Shannon (Ray) Christian, Jamie (Jennifer Zwerk) Sochocki, Cheyenne (John Durek) Cradit, Levi Cradit, her great-grandchildren: Kaylee Cradit, Hunter Cradit, Skylar Buxton, Abbey Buxton, Ryan Buxton, Kinsley Buxton, Austyn (Clarissa Blount) Frost, Bristol Frost, Landon Sochocki, great-great grandson Austyn Frost Jr. and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husbands, Frances was predeceased by her children: Sheryl Lynn (Frederick) Frost, Carol Ann Buxton, Philip Buxton, Jr. and her grandson Frederick Frost, Jr.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Ames United Methodist Church, 801 State Street. Rev. Dave Wichert and Rev. Maurice Horne will officiate with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
