Obituary

Floyd A. Feusse passed away November 2, 2026, at home at the age of 97 years. Floyd was born December 31, 1928, in Iva, Michigan Saginaw County, the son of the late Herman and Lena (Schaper) Feusse. He lived in Iva for 15 years and appreciated the excellent education he received at the Zion Lutheran Church and School where he became a devout Christian learning about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Floyd married Jane L. Fine on August 24, 1957, in Marquette, Michigan. They were blessed with 69 years of happy marriage together. She survives him along with their three children, Daniel (Kathryn) Feusse, Diane (Christopher) Fuller-Prill, Mark Feusse; four grandchildren; Ryan (Amy) Fuller, Hannah (Nathaniel) Mars, Matthew Feusse, and Nathan Feusse; four great-grandchildren Finley and Sylas Fuller, Rachel and Miriam Mars; one brother Richard Feusse.

Besides his parents Floyd was predeceased by his sister Gertrude Haley, and his brother Carl Feusse.

Floyd loved his Lord, his family, and friends, and his teaching. He graduated from Arthur Hill H.S. in 1946, Central Michigan University in 1950 (B.S.) and the University of Colorado in 1956. He taught school for 38 years with the last 29 years at Delta College from where he retired in 1990. Prior to that he taught at Arthur Hill H.S., Michigan State University, and the University of Hawaii. At Delta College he served as President of the Faculty Senate, Chairman of the Business Division, and received the Bergstein Award for outstanding teaching.

Floyd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, obtained the rank of Sgt First Class, and was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service.

Floyd loved his church St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Saginaw where he served as Congregation President, Secretary, and on many committees.

During almost all of his 97 years on earth Floyd enjoyed good health. As illness came upon him, he would say “There’s a better place ahead” meaning in Heaven with Jesus Christ his Savior.
