Fern Mary Rahe Freeland, Michigan Passed away Friday, December 26, 2014, at St. Mary's of Michigan. Age 74 years. She was born, August 12, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of the late Clarence Wiles and Lillian (Bush) Briggs. She graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul High School, and was employed for over 30 years at St. Mary's Medical Center of Michigan. She married Leonard August Rahe who passed away April 12, 2014. Fern was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Freeland, loved to travel, shop and go to the casino. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Bernie S. and Sarah Hartman, Flushing, MI; Kim Hartman-Dupuis, Las Vegas, NV; Greg(s) and Lisa Hartman, Riverside, CA; Joe Hartman, Vassar, MI; Rob Hartman, Freeland, MI; her step-children, Dorothy and Ed Miller, Cedar, MI; Danna Bugai; Daniel and Julie Rahe, all of Traverse City, MI; David and Lisa Rahe, Cedar, MI. She adored her 19 grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Kathy Wiles, South Carolina; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, step-father, Harold Briggs; a sister, Ann (Wiles) Wagner and two step-brothers, Clarence and Gordon Wiles. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 300 Johnson St. Freeland. Rev. Robert Deland will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's of Hannah cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friends may then call at the Church from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
