Emily A. Morey

Morey, Emily A. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at St. Francis Home at the age of 98 years. Emily Agnes Zumer was born August 7, 1914 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Mary (Purcell) Zumer. She married Kenneth Morey February 14, 1931; he predeceased her in 1982. She had been employed by Lufkin Rule and later was employed as a seamstress at Feige's. Mr. and Mrs. Morey were founding members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was an avid volunteer with the church and the Saginaw community. Emily was well known for her baking, her love of animals and her great generosity. Surviving are four daughters and one son, Carol (Charles) Collison, Saginaw; Lois Mrozinski, Freeland; David Morey, St. Joseph, Michigan; Ronnie Neumann, Saginaw; Mary Ellen (Joseph) Manelis, Sanford, Michigan; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Aileen Grierson; her sister-in-law, Rosemary Zumer; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, James Morey; her sons-in-law, Al Mrozinski and Bob Neumann; one grandson; seven brothers and sisters. Emily's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of St. Francis Home for their loving care. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. David Parsch will officiate. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday where they may meet with relatives at 7:00 p.m. for a vigil service. They may then call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
