Elzbieta "Liz" Maria Tappen

Saginaw, Michigan

The world lost a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Elzbieta Maria Tappen, affectionately known as Liz, passed unexpectedly away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at her home, with her family at her side. At the age of 71 years.

The daughter of the late Benjamin and Wiktoria (Bojdd) Tymich, Liz was born on April 27, 1953, in Wrexham, England. She married her high school sweetheart, Fred Alfred Tappen, on July 29, 1972. Their marriage of 52 wonderful years was a testament to enduring love and together they raised four remarkable children. He survives her. A wonderful wife and mother, Liz was always there when her family needed her the most as she offered support, wisdom and love in abundance. She devoted her life to her family and was the heart of their home. Liz had a passion for thrift shopping, filling our home and garage with countless, endless treasures. Her culinary skills were a source of delight; Liz and her family took great pleasure in preparing meals that would bring everyone together. In her love of the outdoors, Liz found solace in gardening and cherished the moments spent by the bonfire with her family and loved ones. Among her treasured pastimes was the monthly gathering with her Bunco Buddies, where she found camaraderie and shared many memorable moments.

Surviving besides her husband and love of her life, Fred; are their daughters, Stacy (Rachel) Tappen, Holly (David) Ferry, Janelle Tappen; grandchildren, Tyler (Colie), Tanner, Ethan, Sebastian, Bella; one great-granddaughter, Ivy, and one on the way; her loving brother, Bruno (Sandra) Tymich; and her beloved dog, Max. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Tappen.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of her lifelong friends and Bunco Buddies. Liz will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
