ELLEN PHYLLIS ARCHAMBEAU
Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away on August 6, 2023 in Saginaw at the age of 88 years. Ellen was born December 23, 1934 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Charles Julian Grandy and Myrtle Mae (Snellenberger) Grandy. She was a 1953 graduate of Saginaw High School where she met her future husband, John Archambeau. The former Ellen Phyllis Grandy married John Edward Archambeau on November 12, 1955. Ellen and John settled in Saginaw Township where they raised four children and enjoyed 56 years together. John predeceased her on April 26, 2012.

Ellen was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw serving on Altar Guild, Worship Committee and as an Usher. She worked part-time as a secretary at the Saginaw YMCA for a number of years and in retirement volunteered her time as a Hospital Aide at the former Saginaw General Hospital. Ellen loved to play bridge with her longtime bridge club friends and was an active member of the Saginaw Culture Club, hosting games and gatherings at her home throughout the years. As a dedicated patron of the arts, Ellen always looked forward to each new season of concerts by the Saginaw Symphony Orchestra, Saginaw Choral Society and to music events at First Presbyterian Church. Ellen and John were avid square dancers for many years and combined their love of dancing with club camping trips around Michigan. They loved to travel and enjoyed summer camping vacations with their children and grandchildren. In later years, they traveled extensively abroad with adventures to Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the UK. Ellen and John treasured family visits to and from New York, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Colorado and Texas. Ellen's time with grand and great-grandchildren were always a source of joy and full of cherished memories.

Ellen leaves behind four children, Pamela (Randy) Heasley (TX), Michael (Erika) Archambeau (CT), Jeffrey Archambeau (MI), and Jill (Marc) Fontaine (GA), three grandsons Eric and Brett Heasley (TX) and Camden Archambeau (MA), six great-grandchildren John, Elaina, Elise, Owen, Grant and Luke Heasley (TX), her brothers Galen (Mabel) Grandy (MI) and Arman (Debbie) Grandy (MI), and nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her loving husband John Archambeau, her parents, sister Marilyn (Chum) Longworth, brother-in-law Chum Longworth, sister-in-law Mabel Grandy, and nephews Gary, David, and Allen Grandy.
