Elizabeth Louise MacFarlane

Elizabeth "Beth" Louise MacFarlane of St. Charles, Michigan

Beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was 73 years old. Elizabeth Louise MacFarlane was born on July 16, 1950, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to the late Robert Stuart and Dorothy Elizabeth (Lovay) MacFarlane. She was a proud 1969 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Following graduation, Beth immediately began working in production with Eaton Manufacturing, retiring at 48 years old after 30 years of loyal and dedicated service. She met the love of her life, Paul Raysis, while working at the plant. They dated, fell in love, and were united for 55 years; he preceded her in death on December 30, 2022. A proponent of education, Beth attended Saginaw Valley State University, while working full time, graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Creative in every sense of the word, she was a phenomenal photographer and scrapbooker, meticulously creating perfect scrapbooks and images. She enjoyed crafts and over the years created countless beautifully beaded purses and cross-stitched Thomas Kincade portraits. Her little piece of heaven was spending time in her flower garden tending to her flowers and taking yearly vacations with her sisters. She will forever be remembered as a generous and selfless giver, for loving her siblings and her nieces and nephews unconditionally, for her wonderful sense of humor, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories.

Surviving are two brothers and four sisters: Robert (Sandy) MacFarlane, Michele (Richard) Tepatti, Michael (Nancy) MacFarlane, Judy MacFarlane, Joyce (Greg) Wojewoda, Kathy (Mark) Sanburn. Also surviving are over 50 beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Raysis; and her parents, Robert and Dorothy MacFarlane.
