Elaine Marie Merrow

Elaine Marie Merrow of Bridgeport, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, April 28, 2024. She was 78 years old. Elaine Marie Reeves was born on January 24, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Perry Emil and Viola Mae (Daniels) Reeves. She met the love of her life, Robert Michael Merrow, while in high school. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on December 7, 1963; he preceded her in death on January 16, 2017. Elaine was a self-employed residential interior decorator serving many families throughout the community for over 15 years. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a generous heart and selfless spirit, opening her home to countless foster children and family members over the years and always loving them as her own. Family was at the center of her soul, fulfilling the role as honorary grandmother to many of her great-nieces and nephews. A welcoming home to all, Elaine's house was where everyone wanted to be. Whether it was swimming in her pool or gathering for the holiday and special events, love was at the center. As a young lady, she starred as pitcher for her softball team. Elaine also enjoyed bowling and patiently taught others how to play the sport. She was a gifted and talented quilter and loved spending time gardening. Her little piece of heaven was spending time with her grandchildren. Elaine will forever be remembered as a detailed storyteller and her ability to listen and talk with anyone. She selflessly put others ahead of herself, especially children.

Surviving are four children and their spouses: Robert Michael Merrow II of Frankenmuth; Rondell Lee and Jacque' Merrow of Dexter; Robin Michelle and Scott Williams of Saginaw Township; Robert William and Robin Weaver of Carrollton; 14 grandchildren: Robert Michael Merrow III, Alyssabeth Elaine Merrow, Zachary Edward Merrow, Abigail Louise Merrow and her fiancé, Tyler Sumner, Jacob Russell Williams and his partner, Tyler Strejc, Dakota Michelle Williams, Reeve Landon Merrow, Riley Michelle Merrow, Erin Michelle and her husband, Michael Adwell, Amanda Renee Costello, Alexander Michael and Deleana Weaver, Jonathon Edward and Samantha Weaver, and Patricia Jean and Austin Rios; two great-grandchildren: Marshall William Adwell and Bryson Edward Weaver; a brother-in-law, Walt Hall of Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Mary Reeves of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Michael Merrow; and by eight brothers and sisters.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Michelle Mays for all the love and care she provided to Elaine and the family.
