Elaine Marie Buckley

Elaine Marie Buckley of Saginaw, Michigan,

Passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 28, 2023. She was 79 years old. Elaine Marie Hoeppner was born on June 23, 1943, in Midland, Michigan, to the late Emil and Herta (Tessin) Hoeppner. She was a 1961graduate of Merrill High School. Following graduation, she attended Delta College and later Alma College where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Elaine taught for a couple of years at Zion Lutheran School and later finished her career at the United States Post Service. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. As part of her Christian journey she participated and volunteered with the LWML, Stephen's Ministry, and various Bible study groups. Elaine enjoyed traveling, sewing, attending book clubs, looking through catalogs, and spending time with her grandchildren and Dachshund, Chocolate.

Surviving are three children: Mark (Maria) Buckley of Freeland; Bonni Norwood of Spring Lake; Barbara (Frank) Szofran of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Wilfred Hoeppner of Saginaw; Gerald Hoeppner of Saginaw.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Lloyd Hoeppner.

A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Kirk Abatelli will officiate. Burial will follow at Richland Lutheran Cemetery. Family and close friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
