Eileen M. Fitzgerald

Beloved mother and grandmother, has reunited with the love of her life, William Fitzgerald, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Age 88 years.

Eileen was born on January 29, 1934, daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Ducharme) Gaffney, in Holyoke, Massachusetts. She married William Fitzgerald on September 3, 1955. He predeceased her on May 12, 1989. Eileen had great compassion being a Registered Nurse and dedicated her life to the care for other people. She began her career at St. Luke’s Hospital and retired from Frankenmuth Care Center after many years of service. Eileen looked forward to breakfast and coffee with friends. She was an avid painter and a passionate “Tree Hugger”. Eileen loved being outdoors, working in her yard or watching the animals. She will be remembered for being able to put a smile on her family’s faces, whether it was with her great sense of humor or with a selfless, kind gesture.

Eileen is survived by her children, Tamara (Glenn) Sischo, Michael Fitzgerald, Patrick (Karol) Fitzgerald and David (Dora) Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Brandon (Shelby) Sischo, Andrew (Ashley) Sischo, Chelsey, Michael and Hayden Fitzgerald, Kara Fitzgerald, Britney, Megan and Julia Fitzgerald, Kevin, Steve and Brian Foulds and Katelyn Somers; many great grandchildren and her furbaby, Holly. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jerry, Raymond and William Gaffney.
