Obituary

Edward James Greenwood, born on July 6, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the age of 76.

Edward spent most of his career as a lumberjack in sawmills, where he embraced the challenges of the job with tenacity and pride. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own a video store in Prescott, Michigan, where he shared his passion for films with the community. Edward was known for his love of music, particularly the timeless songs of Elvis Presley, which often filled his home with joy. In addition to music, he found pleasure in playing cards, indulging in computer games, and cherishing moments spent with family and friends.

Edward is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Greenwood, and his son, Eddie Nowaczyk, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy. He is also survived by his brother, John (Amy) Armbruster, and his sister, Mary E. Collison, alongside many nieces and nephews who held him dear.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene Ann (Nowaczyk) Greenwood; his mother, Wanda June Greenwood and her husband, William; his daughter, Debra Ann Greenwood; his brother, Larry Leiner; and his brother-in-law, Bill Collison.

In honor of Edward’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a service.

Arrangements were entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603.
