Obituary

Earl James Monroe, age 71, of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 11, 2026.

Earl was a husband, brother, father, papa, uncle, and friend who loved spending time with his family and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. On a warm day you could find him under his tree having a cold Busch and a “conversation” with his wife. He was an avid sports fan and rarely missed cheering on his Red Wings, Tigers, Lions, and Wolverines, recorded to skip the commercials of course. Some of his favorite moments were spent golfing with his son, relaxing in his beloved man cave, and random road trips with his wife.

He leaves behind close friends and family including his loving wife, Carol Monroe; children: Eric (Allison) Monroe, Vanessa (Matt) Smith, Myriah Dailey, and Evan Dailey; closest grandchildren: Madison, Ethan, and Clara; brother, Steve (Laverne) Monroe; and his sister, Cindy (Tom) Holcomb.

Earl will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Honoring Earl’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date, under his tree in the back yard. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider having a “conversation” and a beer in his honor.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family through www.casefuneralhome.com.
