Dorothy Ann Jacobs, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully August 9, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 28, 1931, in Saginaw, Michigan, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Henry and Anna (Weigand) Schark.

On June 18, 1949, Dorothy married the love of her life, Harold Jacobs. Together they built a home filled with love, faith, and family, sharing many years of cherished memories.

A faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, Dorothy found comfort and strength in her faith throughout her life. She found her greatest peace at home, where she lovingly cared for her family and created a warm and welcoming environment for all who entered. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in being a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Dorothy enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved keeping her home spotless, crocheting beautiful creations, coloring, and tending to her lawn with great care. One of her favorite treats was ice cream, and she never tried a flavor she didn't enjoy.

Those who knew Dorothy will remember her as a true "hugger," always greeting family and friends with open arms and a warm smile. She was deeply family-oriented and treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. Her kindness, nurturing spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family leave a legacy that will continue through the generations she helped shape.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Connie Wendling, Ernest “Butch” Jacobs, and Harold (Debbie) Jacobs; her sister, Marilyn LaDouce; her grandchildren, Matthew (Joy) Wendling, Lindsay (Joel) Colon, Jenny Jacobs, Stacy (David) Clark, James (Shanda) Jacobs, Katie (Scott) Knaub, Kristy (Zach) Colston, Emily (Mike) Putman, and Adam Jacobs; 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-greatgrandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members that were an important in Dorothy’s life.

Dorothy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Alongside her parents, Dorothy is preceded in passing by her loving husband, Harold; son-in-law, William Wendling; daughter-in-law, Ann Jacobs; brother and his wife Don and Betty Schark; and brother-in-law, Jim LaDouce.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dorothy’s home caregivers, Virginia, Karen and Faith, and her very special caregiver, Debbie for the kindness and love they extended to Dorothy. They would also like to thank the caregivers of Wellspring and Optimal Care Hospice for their extraordinary care of Dorothy in her time spent with them.

A funeral service is scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 North Miller Road, Saginaw, MI 48609. Pastor Jeff Hawes will officiate. The family will receive guests on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 8:00pm, and again on Thursday, August 13, 2026 beginning at 10:00am until the time of the service. Guests are invited to join the family for a meal following the service at Community Baptist Church, 8331 Gratiot Road, Saginaw, MI 48609.
