Dorothy “Dort” R. Klich of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, May 1, 2025. She was 60 years old. Dorothy Rose Klich was born on May 21, 1964, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Ernest and Sally Ann (Livingston) Klich. Dort had the biggest heart, always putting the needs of others before herself. She accepted everyone, regardless of their station in life, and became the neighborhood aunt to all. She was also the “honorary Michigan mother” of her niece, Amanda. Dort loved to play pool and darts, usually with a cup of coffee or a cold beer in hand, and always ready to win. The role she treasured and cherished the most was to be a loving and devoted grandmother. She will forever be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, for her truth telling and tell it like it is ability, and for always being a kind and loving sister and aunt.

Surviving are her two sons: Jason M. Klich of Saginaw; Lupe Klich-Cuevas of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Zayne, Justyce, Klayton, Sylas, Elye, and Anna; three brothers and one sister: Bert (Brenda) Klich of Bridgeport; Ernest (Kathy) Klich of Saginaw; Hilda Leal and her significant other, Kenny Maudlin of NE; Jerry (Kim) Klich of Saginaw. Also surviving are countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, too numerous to mention, but held closely to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Sally Klich; brother, Donald Klich; a niece, Amanda Klich; a brother-in-law, Jose “Joe” Leal; a longtime boyfriend, Guadalupe Cuevas.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan, 48601. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Honoring Dort’s wishes, cremation will follow the service.
