Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Age 88 years.

Donald was born on August 15, 1934, son of the late George and Hilda (Kupke) Kain, in Zilwaukee. He married Virginia Bauman, she survives him. Donald served in the United States Army and retired from Michigan Bell after 37 dedicated years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, carving, gardening and spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia; children, David (Julie) Kain and Laura Kain; grandchildren, Kendra (Kevin) Baumgartner, Amanda (Jared) Hansen, Rachel Kain and Daniel Birr; great grandchildren, Jayden Schwandt and Joshua Hansen; and sister, Lucille Turner. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Harold, brothers, Walter, Raymond, John and Lovell Kain.

Funeral service will take place at 1:00p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Jacob Kempfert will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
