Passed away on September 20, 2022, at the age of 90 years. Donald was born on February 9, 1932, in Saginaw to the late Neil and Mary (Bradd) Johnson. He married Christina "Christine" Helen Hayes on August 23, 1952; she predeceased him on August 4, 1995. Donald enjoyed his work as a crane operator in the recycling industry. He was a handyman and loved fixing things: cars, lawnmowers, washers, dryers. Donald also loved watching NASCAR and gardening. He was a lifetime Eagle's Member. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Donald is survived by seven children: Donald (Kathy) Johnson of Islesboro, ME, Ronald (Cindy) Johnson of Alger, MI, Bonnie (Bruce) Frank of Islesboro, ME, Connie (Craig) Delaney of Islesboro, ME, Vickie (Wayne) McCallum of Littleton, CO, Julie (Art) Smith of Surry, ME, and Mary (Mark) Danks of St. Helen, MI; son-in-law James Dengler of Saginaw, MI, 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a brother Clyde Johnson.

Along with his wife he was predeceased by a daughter Christine Dengler, a granddaughter Jayni Marie Gardner, great-grandson Donald "DJ" William Johnson IV, six brothers: William, Thomas, Arthur, Robert, Douglas, and Charles "Dick" Johnson; and a sister Martha Evans Dafoe.

Honoring Donald's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, September 26, 2022, at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw. Rev. Jeanne Lapine will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
