MAJOR DONALD DUANE MC MILLEN (ret) U.S. ARMY Cottonwood Shores, Texas Formerly or Cape Coral, Florida Don passed away October 19. 2017 in Texas. Age 89 years. The son of Irl Orrin Mc Millen and Selma Lange Mc Millen was born February 2, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. Don graduated from Saginaw High in 1946. He was awarded a full athletic scholarship to the University of Alabama for his records in Track and Field. He earned a degree in Music. Don proudly serviced 20 years in the U.S. Army. Duty took him to Korea, Vietnam, Alaska, Germany and all over the U.S.A. A world traveler, he enjoyed playing his trombone in many bands, photography, and genealogy. Don married JoAnne Koepplinger Austin March 25, 2006. She and her children Douglas (Liz) Austin and Deanna Mae Austin survive him. Dons children, Don II, Bob, and Susan all predeceased him. Military Committal services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017, at Chapel Hill Mausoleum, 6467 Midland Rd. Freeland, MI 48623. Military Honors will be under the auspices of the Michigan Army National Guard Funeral Team and V.F.W. Post 1859. Friends may visit at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017.
