Diane Jane Hile (Dietrich) "Di"

Our loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully, on Monday, August 4, 2025, with her family at her side. Age 71 years.

Diane was born on November 23, 1953, daughter of Donald and the late Mary (Lorencz) Dietrich, in Camp Rucker, Alabama. After her father’s military enlistment was complete, he moved the family to his hometown, Saginaw. Diane married Terry Hile on July 7, 1997. He survives her. Diane was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1971 and later achieved her dream of becoming a nurse. She completed the Licensed Practical Nurse program at St. Clair College and earned a Bachelors Degree as a Registered Nurse from Davenport University. Diane retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center after 37 devoted years of service. Having significant pride in helping those in need, with unmatched empathy, compassion and humanity, Diane was an amazing nurse. She was a remarkably strong, courageous, and kind woman, who never let the weight of the world dictate her kindness for others. Diane enjoyed reading, crocheting, collecting jewelry, cooking and enjoying her favorite ham and cheese sandwich from Tim’s Tony’s. The greatest title she had was “Gram” and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Diane will not only be remembered for her compassionate spirit, but for her sarcastic, spunky sense of humor.

Diane will be sorely missed by her father, Donald Dietrich; husband, Terry Hile; daughter, Rachel (Christopher) Garrett; her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored, Alannah, Camden and Aaralyn Garrett; brothers, Allen (Pat) Dietrich, David (Shelley) Dietrich and Norman (Cathy) Dietrich; aunts, Julie Mahoney and Maryetta Butts; her special friends, Michelle Dennings and Kathy Fettig; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Diane was predeceased by her sister, Mary Sodini; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Alice Hile.

Honoring Diane’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Garfield Cemetery, Swan Creek Township, Lakefield and S. Graham Roads, St. Charles, Michigan 48655.
