Denny, beloved husband, uncle and long-time friend passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Stone Crest Assisted Living; at the age of 79 years.

The son of the late Raymond and Mary (Kanzig) Dorey, Denny was born on August 29, 1943 in Bay City, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1961. Denny then continued his education at the University of Michigan, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married his lifelong soulmate, Louella A. Lehmann on September 23, 1967, and they renewed their vows on Sunday before her passing on October 18, 2015. Denny was a lifelong engineer and retired in 2001 from General Motors Steering Gear after many years of loyal and dedicated service. He was a member of Kingston Wesleyan Church in Reese, Michigan. Denny was affiliated with the Saginaw County Landlord’s Association for many years. He enjoyed golfing and antiquing. Denny and Louella spent their lifetime enjoying each other’s companionship and their family of animals, especially their beloved Bouvier des Flandres (dogs).

Surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Besides his parents and his wife, Denny was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Dorey.

Denny’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Stone Crest Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care.

Denny leaves a legacy, having a strong faith in God and sharing and caring for his loved ones. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48603. Pastor Len Wyatt of Kingston Wesleyan Church will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral chapel on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Kingston Wesleyan Church or Stone Crest Assisted Living.
