Beloved father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at his home, with his family at his side; at the age of 73 years.

The son of the late John and Lucille (Kleeman) Bentley, Dennis was born on March 22, 1948 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School. Denny served in the United States Army. He married Barbara Jeanne Spalding on September 2, 1972; she preceded him in death on April 30, 2007. Denny worked at General Motors for many years of loyal and dedicated service until he retired in 1999 to be at home with his wife as a full-time caretaker. He enjoyed traveling up North, playing bingo, scratch off tickets, and telling stories. Above all, Denny cherished the time spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his two sons, three daughters and their spouses: Mark Bentley, Shannon and Matt Wiechert, Liberty and Shane Smith, Tricia and Timmy Fillion, Lee and Heather Bentley; ten grandchildren: Simon Bentley, Colton Smith, Noah Bentley, Gavin Wiechert, Logan Smith, Casey Wardin, Dylan Smith, Emma Wardin, ReRe Wardin, Hazel "Number 10" Fillion, two brothers and one sister: Theresa Bentley, Brian (Lin) Bentley, Kalvin (Jean) Bentley; a very dear friend: Margo "Rgo" Hare. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Besides his wife and his parents; Denny was preceded in death by an infant brother: Gary Bentley; one brother and two sisters: Lorraine Eineder, Kevin Bentley, Kathy Nemeth.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw. Chaplain Chuck Wade will officiate. Honoring Denny's wishes, cremation will follow his service. Friends may visit the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, at the funeral chapel. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, indoor capacity is limited to 25 persons, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged. We appreciate everyone's efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression if sympathy may wish to consider memorials to MS Society or Heartland Hospice.
