Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 surrounded by her family. Delorys was born on February 24, 1927 in Flint, to the late Kenneth and Edythe (Varney) Walt. On June 21, 1947, she married Harold Meyer and they enjoyed 69 years of married life before he predeceased her on May 31, 2016. Delorys was an avid golfer and was formerly a long-time member of the Saginaw Country Club. She was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, and a long-time member of the Assistance League. Surviving are a son and two daughters, Gary Meyer of Chattanooga, TN, Kathy (Don) Kettles of Lansing, and Lisa (Larry) Kickham of Saginaw; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with whom she loved spending time, Harold K. Meyer and Leigh W. (Justin) Broxton, both of Chattanooga, TN, Richard (Joy) Kettles and Katherine (Joshua Maxwell) Kettles, both of Lansing, and Laura Kickham and Molly Kickham of Saginaw; four special great-grandchildren, Jaxie Broxton, and Brianna, Moriah, Elaina Kettles; her sisters: Bertha Frania, Joyce Scott and many nieces and nephews. Delorys was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters. Delorys will be deeply missed. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2019 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2100 Brockway. Pastor Julie Bailey will officiate with private burial to follow. Friends may call on the family on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road and on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may consider City Rescue Mission or Emmaus House.
