Debra Charlys Reetz, age 72, of Lansing, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and savior on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Debra was born on May 11, 1953, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Theodore and Helen (Koehler) Reetz. She lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a profound love for her family and community.
Debra graduated from McArthur High School in 1971. She devoted over fifteen years to Mid-Michigan Physicians Insurance.
Known for her loving and kind-hearted nature, Debra cherished her role as a mother above all else. Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of those around her, reflecting a spirit that was both nurturing and genuine. As a member of Valley Farms Baptist Church in Lansing, she found community and faith that further enriched her life.
Outside of work and family, Debra had a rich life of hobbies and interests. She enjoyed the meticulous art of cross stitch, the exhilaration of NASCAR races, the tranquility of camping, the joy of music, and the serenity found in gardening.
Debra is survived by her lifelong companion, Earl "Butch" Martenies; her daughter-in-law, Carina Metevia; numerous cousins with whom he shared a close and enduring bond; and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by son Steven Metevia.
Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate the service with interment to follow in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
