Deanna Arne Coon

Hemlock, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, aunt, and friend passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at home, with her family at her side. Age 56 years.

The daughter of the late Arnold and Janice (Behler) Denter, Deanna was born on February 1, 1970, in Saginaw, Michigan. Deanna graduated from Hemlock High School and continued her education at Delta College and Ross Medical Education Center, where she completed her medical assistant training. She married the love of her life, David “Scott” Coon, on May 18, 1991, at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Charles. Together, they shared 35 wonderful years of marriage. Scott survives her. Deanna began her career as a medical assistant before working as a transcriptionist and later as a medical coder for various companies. She was a devoted member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Mid‑Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association, where she served as chairperson of the information booth. Deanna was a true movie buff, especially enjoying Sixteen Candles, John Hughes films, and anything from the 1980s. She loved cooking and baking, watching her favorite shows, and enjoying an occasional margarita. She also enjoyed traveling, especially visiting the Soo Locks, dining at her favorite restaurant, Jose’s Cantina, and staying at the St. Ignace Budget Host Inn & Suites. Above all, Deanna cherished the time with her family.

Surviving besides her husband, Scott Coon; their daughter and son, Halee Coon, Joseph Coon; niece, Jessica Sedivec Foerster; very dear friends, Terri and Steve Arendt. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Deanna was preceded in death by her sisters, Christina Denter Sedivec and Lori Denter.

Honoring Deanna’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1123 W. Walnut St, St. Charles, MI 48655. Pastor Jason Baldwin will officiate. Friends may visit the family from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1123 W. Walnut St, St. Charles, MI 48655, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
