Dax Edward Burk

Our beloved son and shining star went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the age of 18. Dax was born on April 12, 2005, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Dean and Darci (Lugiewicz) Burk and was soon to be a 2023 graduate of Hemlock High School. A hard worker, Dax was training to be an HVAC union member while working as a technician for D&R Mechanical. In his free time, he enjoyed staying active and spending time outdoors. He fished, played basketball and football, loved working out, and spent time travelling and camping with his family, especially cherishing his time with them in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Dax had a hobby of working on trucks, installing sound systems and other components in his and his friends’ vehicles. More than anything, he was an outgoing and energetic man who made friends wherever he went. He was brilliant and one of a kind, always making sure he had time for others, and he would help you in a heartbeat. He was kind, caring, and giving with a big heart full of love for his many friends and family members, and a part of Dax will live on in all the people he donated organs and tissue to upon his passing.

Dax is survived by parents, Dean Burk and Darci Burk; grandmother, Beth Burk; aunts, Kelynn (Rodney) Taylor and Carla (Charlie) Wurtzel; and cousins, Tiffany Therman, Marleigh Taylor, Bradley Wurtzel, and Brandon Krzyaniak; as well as countless friends, his beloved dog, Oreo and cats, Fancy, Pumpkin, and Midnight.  

Dax was preceded in death by grandparents, Edward Lugiewicz, Joan Lugiewicz, and John Burk; aunt, Sharla Krzyaniak; and cousins, Zachary Krzyaniak and Bethany Wurtzel.

A Funeral Service for Dax will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Home, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, with Rev. Phillip Loescher officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00p.m., and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Cremation is to follow, with a memorial wake planned for Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 1:00 to  5:00 p.m., at Dax’ home in Hemlock.
