Passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at the age of 88 years.
David was born on January 21, 1937, in Midland, MI to the late George C. and Hazel F. (Clark) Wenzel. He worked for Reinert Meyer Garage for 11 years in Marion Springs. He later retired from General Motors following 33 years of service. David married Nancy Mau on July 19, 1958; she survives him. David was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wheeler. He had a love for drag racing, snowmobiling and going to the casino.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Nancy, and their children: Greg (Lynette) Wenzel, Michael Wenzel, Donald Wenzel, David (Melissa) Wenzel, 9 grandchildren: Kayla (Cory) Wiklanski, Alyssa (David) Ortega, Alexandria Wenzel, Samantha Wenzel, Matthew Coe, Tiffany Coe, Tyler (Sarah) Wenzel, Brianna Wenzel, Meagan Dotson, 10 great-grandchildren, four brothers: Richard Wenzel, Daniel Wenzel, Gerald Wenzel, Ben (Lana) Wenzel, his sister-in-law Jan (Lon) Block and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. David was predeceased by his daughter Susan Coe and four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wheeler. Rev. Michael Podeszwa will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Monday at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 125 E. Saginaw St. Merrill from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
