Daniel Thomas Cummings of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Auburn Heights Assisted Living. He was 54 years old. Daniel Thomas Cummings was born on December 27, 1971, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Frederick and Sandra Jane (McCloskey) Cummings. He enjoyed spending time fishing on the Saginaw River. Daniel also loved the intricacy and detail adult coloring brought to his life. A devoted family man, he treasured and cherished the times he was able to spend with family and friends. Daniel loved to cheer for his favorite teams, the Michigan State Spartans and the Detroit Red Wings. He enjoyed cooking, especially Mexican dishes. He had a feisty sense of humor and a heart full of determination. Daniel will forever be remembered for his kind and giving spirit, for selflessly helping anyone in need, and for ability to stay positive with a smile. His little piece of heaven were all of his beloved dogs, Bella, BJ, Buddy, Daisy, and Izzy.

Surviving are five brothers, Fred (Krissy) Cummings of Freeland, Leo (Christie) Cummings of Tawas, Brandon (Jackie) Cummings of Ferndale, Josh Reese of Midland, and Gabriel Cummings of Saginaw; stepmother, Elizabeth Cummings of Saginaw; three honorary children: Anthony, Robert, and Trina LaFramboise; many honorary grandchildren; two special nieces: Anniston Cummings and Johanna Greko; and best friend and fishing buddy, Kevin Cronkright. Also surviving are many additional nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends too numerous to mention, but held closely to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Cummings Jr.; mother, Sandra (Benjamin) Snow; and a sister, Catrina Dunagan-Cummings; grandparents: LaVerne and Joan McCloskey, Gladys Cummings, Frederick and Gloria Cummings, Sr.; and step grandmother, Carol Hill.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Auburn Heights Assisted Living for all the love and care they provided to Daniel and the family.

Honoring Daniel’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends may gather on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. t0 2:00 p.m. at the W. L.
