Cyril "Cy" A. Schultz Jr

Cyril "Cy" A. Schultz Jr, 86, of Saginaw, passed away 2/1/2023 at Huron Woods Nursing Center. 

He was born on 12/8/1936 in Saginaw to Cyril Schultz, Sr, and Marion. He had two older brothers, Ronald and Gerald.

He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, class of 1954. He worked for Home Dairy, but spent most of his career with the City of Saginaw and retired from there. Then he was the recording secretary of his local SEIU for many years.

Cy was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's/ St Dominic's of Saginaw, where he was an active member and greeter. He was also a longtime member of St. Stephen's of Prescott. He was a longtime member of the Serra club, where he also served as President. He was also on the board for Family First Credit Union.

Cy enjoyed his cottages on Skidway Lake and later on Lake Ogemaw. He eventually made his home on Lake Ogemaw and was on the lake association board. As his health declined, he spent more time again at his family home in Saginaw.

While he was not born on February 29, he enjoyed telling people that he was born during a leap year so his age "lept around", and he was always 29 years old. He liked to go out to eat and visit with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling and saw all 50 states. Later in life, he came to enjoy the company of chihuahua's, and had two at separate times, each named Rex.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril Sr and Marion, and both his brothers, Gerald and then Ronald.

Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7^th, 2023, at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2711 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Vijay Madanu will officiate with Rite of Committal to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass on Tuesday at the church.
