Cynthia S. Buszka of Hemlock, MI
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and soon to be great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on 12/18/2024 at the age of 71 years.
The daughter of the late Leonard and Beverly Soik was born on November 23 in Alpena Michigan. She graduated from Hillman High School and Delta College. Cynthia married David Buszka on August 14, 1971, she leaves behind her devasted spouse of 53 years and her three children; DJ (Stacie), Trina (Russell), and Nathan (Stacey), her grandchildren; her very special Kody, Tiffany (Korbin), Rebecca (Gabe), Stella (Kyler), Jack, Jessica (Sam), and Taylor (Cory). She is survived by her sisters; Terry (Gary) Edwards, Jody (John) Carpenter, Cherokee (Steve) Hubert, her brothers; Daniel (Donna) Soik, Joe (Regina) Soik, and Don (Jessie) Soik. Her sister, Tammy Soik, predeceased her. She treasured the friendship of Ed and Joanne Briggs, her and David’s travel partners.
Cynthia constantly strived to elevate herself and her family. While raising her children, she earned her college degree and worked at Citizens Bank for 17 years where she was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Trust and Wealth Management. She joined Andrews Hooper and Pavlik as an accountant in 2005. She took breaks from employment when any member of her family needed her, always able to resume her career and excel. She took on grandma silly duties full-time in 2008.
Cindy will forever be remembered for the love she had for her family. She created a welcoming and loving home, a hub for family functions. Her chocolate cake was a staple at any celebration, her easter egg hunts competitive, her Halloween parties a work of art. Every day, grandkids were at the house to play. She created elaborate poems and riddles to solve, ending in grand gifts. She held her family together and created memories to last a lifetime, she will be forever missed.
Honoring Cynthia’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Those who would like to express their sympathy, can honor her memory by spending time with your mother, father, or elder friend or relative.
