Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the age of 69 years. The son of the late Weldon and Ruth (Preuss) Sheltraw was born on March 7, 1949 in Saginaw. He served in the U. S. Navy during Vietnam. Curt married Janis Taylor on September 8, 1973; she survives him. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hemlock. Curt enjoyed the outdoors, often hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He also liked to cheer on his favorite sports teams. Surviving besides his wife of 45 years, Janis, are their children: Kelly (Tony Gonzalez) Sheltraw, Kerry (Robert) Laviolette, grandchildren: Dylan, Emma, Josiah, Luke, his sister Connie (Jim) Krueger and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial service will take place at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris and Rev. Richard E. Mundt will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hemlock.
