Consuelo "Connie" Diaz Perez

Passed away peacefully on October 17, 2022 surrounded by her common law husband, Pablo Hernandez Gonzales, her children, siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  She was also surrounded by many caring and wonderful doctors and nurses of Buttersworth Healthcare in Grand Rapids, MI who provided such wonderful care of her and her family.  Born on July 25, 1937 in Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of the late Anita Flores Hernandez and Jesus Hernandez and Rafael Garibay. 

She did the best she could with what she had.  She will be greatly missed by many.  Connie loved spending time with her family, siblings and grandchildren.  She loved her flowers and being in her garden, watching novelas and going to the casino.  Everyone will miss her cooking and homemade hot sauce.

Connie is survived by Pablo Hernandez Gonzalez, her children Rosita (Douglas) Gunlock, Margarita (Buster Payton) Diaz, Cynthia (Ricardo) Perez, Debbie (Richard Rudysill) Diaz, Victor (Sandra) Diaz, Pastor Lisa Urivez (Michael) Karp, Bobbie (Brian Shire) Ledesma; her siblings: Ramon, Anna, Joe, Juan, Jesse, Josefina, and Helen; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Connie was preceded in death by her husband Armando Diaz, her mother Anita Hernandez, father, Jesus Hernandez, her dad Rafael Garibay, brother Carlos Hernandez, and son-in-law Juan Urivez.

In accordance with Connie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 910 N. 6^th Ave. Saginaw.  Fr. Frank Voris, O.F.M. Cap will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial liturgy.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or in honor of Connie to any special cause close to your heart.
