Constance "Connie" Marie Hornstein (Brewer)

Constance “Connie” Marie Hornstein of Madison Heights, Michigan, formerly of Chesaning

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home with her daughter by her side. She was 65 years old. Constance “Connie” Marie Brewer was born on April 29, 1957, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Robert and Lois (James) Brewer. She was a proud 1975 graduate of Chesaning High School. Following graduation, Connie attended Oakland Community College where she received two Associates Degree’s. She honorably served her country by enlisting in the United State Navy from 1985 until her honorable discharge in 1989. Connie met the love of her life, David Ira Hornstein, serendipitously through an astrologer, while at the House of Shamrock in Hazel Park. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on May 2, 2009; he survives her. She worked a variety of retail positions, most recently a bakery where she was able to use her excellent customer service and people skills to help people. The role of her lifetime was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Connie was a lifelong learner and enjoyed reading, especially non-fiction books and astrology. Her little piece of heaven was spending time sewing and crocheting. She will forever be remembered for her upfront and honest disposition, her kind and caring heart, for her selflessness to those in need, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are her husband, David Hornstein of Madison Heights; a daughter, Sharon Marie Brewer of Saginaw; two grandchildren: Austin Stafford of Defiance, OH; Shelly (Caleb) Briskey of Paulding, OH; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister: Robert Brewer of Burt; Larry Brewer of Saginaw; Deborah Brewer of Romeo; brother-in-law, James Cooper of Bridgeport. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael James Brewer; parents, Robert and Lois Brewer;  brother, Gary Brewer; and a sister, Elaine Cooper.
