Clifford “Cliff” Theodore Crossett of Saginaw, Formerly of Caro

Passed away on November 12th, 2022, at his home in Saginaw, at the age of 80. Born on November 3rd, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Clifford & Evelyn (McParlan) Crossett, Cliff graduated high school from Dearborn Fordson before earning a bachelor’s degree and then a master’s degree from Central Michigan University. A lifelong educator, Cliff retired as the superintendent of Hemlock School District. While at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, he met Marybeth McCabe while playing pool. The two would marry in May of 2012. She survives him. In his free time, Cliff enjoyed staying active golfing, bowling, and playing pool He had a love of sports, especially Lions and U of M Football, and spent many years as a basketball coach for Caro High School. He was a leader at heart and his financial acumen was well-respected; in addition to his duties as a superintendent, Cliff was also the bookkeeper for the Loyal Order of Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Wolga Club. He was an active and well-respected member of those organizations. Cliff is remembered as a man who loved spending time with friends and family and as someone who was intelligent, articulate, and fun-loving. Cliff was generous with his attention and support, could always be turned to for advice, and kept those he loved in his heart forever.

Cliff is survived by his wife Marybeth Crossett; children Melissa Termine, Ted Crossett, Nate (Stacy) Crossett, Luke (Kathleen) Crossett, and Kara Crossett; grandchildren Noah Crossett, Hunter Termine, Ashlyn Termine, Evelyn Crossett, and Colton Crossett; great-grandchild Avery, stepchildren Joe Bailey, and Amanda (Gerald) Golden; and step-grandchildren Aurora and Ava Golden; as well as many cousins, other family members, and friends.

Cliff was preceded in death by his first wife Roberta Jones; and Micky Gentille, who was like a brother to him.

In accordance with Cliff’s wishes, cremation is to take place, with a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw. Karen Green will officiate. A Celebration of Life Dinner will be held following the service at 2:30 pm at the Loyal Order of Moose #82, 2218 Midland Road. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Those wanting to make a show of their sympathy may wish to consider a contribution to the VA Saginaw Healthcare System.
