Passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at Mid-Michigan Health Center. Alma, MI. Age 59 years. The daughter of Arlene (Holroyd) and Robert Strong Sr. was born September 19, 1958 and resided in Merrill, Michigan. She married David Welke, May 7, 1977. He passed away November 19, 2002. Cindy was a member of Merrill Congregational Church and enjoyed community Bible study. She enjoyed reading, crafting, sewing, nature, baking and chocolate making. Cindy will be remembered for her great love, encouraging words, thoughtful acts and her amazing way of making others feel special. Surviving besides her parents, are her son, Ben Welke, and her daughter, Pamela Hales with her husband, Aaron; a step-son and his wife, Bryan and Evette Welke; a step-daughter, Tammy Perkins; her grandchildren, Samantha, Katelyn and Andrew Hales; Tonia and Steven Welke; Stephanie, Derek and Daniel Perkins; two sisters and two brothers and their spouses, Diane Merton; Keith and Shelly Strong; Jacqueline and Fred Scribner; Robert Strong Jr; several loving nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018, at the Merrill Wesleyan Church, 3765 N. Chapin Rd. Merrill. Pastor Tim Morris will officiate. Friends may visit at the church from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the memorial service.
